  • The Maya Train (El Tren Maya) is a railway project in Mexico.

    President López Obrador inaugurates the first part of the tourist Maya Train, which runs in a rough loop around the Yucatán Peninsula. The $20 billion, 950-mile line will connect beach resorts and archaeological sites. A rail route connecting dozens of must-see sights across the Yucatán peninsula, is trying to change that by expanding tourism throughout the region and bolstering the economy in some of Mexico’s less developed states. The railway, which partially opened in December and is scheduled to be fully operational in February 2024.

  • Mark Twain was an American writer and humorist.

    Samuel Langhorne Clemens, known by the pen name Mark Twain, was an American writer, humorist, essayist, entrepreneur, publisher and lecturer.

    He worked mainly for newspapers and as a steamboat pilot on the Mississippi River before he became a writer. His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. He was praised as the "greatest humorist the United States has produced".

    Mark Twain arrived in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1896 and stayed at Watson's Hotel. He once said, “India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend and the great grand mother of tradition”.
