The Himalayan Trust is a charitable organization with a rich history rooted in the spirit of compassion and service. Established in 1960 by Sir Edmund Hillary, the renowned New Zealand mountaineer and adventurer, the trust was created with the primary goal of supporting the people of Nepal.
Sir Edmund and Louise Hillary founded the Himalayan Trust in the 1960s. Ever since then, they’ve inspired New Zealanders to give their time, money and support to help the people of Nepal through the Himalayan Trust.
Education has been a focal point of their efforts, with numerous schools built and scholarships provided to students, ensuring that the younger generation has access to quality education.
Edmund Hillary, climbing with Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, was the first person to reach the summit of Mt Everest.
